WORK EXPERIENCE:

Otak, Tempe, Arizona - Landscape Technician III / Urban Designer (July 2013 to May 2014)

  • I was tasked with designing and drafting multi-family, single family, government and resort projects.

  • The following is a list of projects I have either worked on or have played a major role in designing:

    Crossroads Apartments at San Tan Village, Gilbert, Arizona:
    I was in charge of designing the landscape and hardscape of the apartment complex. Additionally, a team that I supervised was tasked with putting together the construction documents for the project.

    Timber Ridge, Payson, Arizona:
    I was tasked with helping to create a preliminary site plan for the 120 acre single and multi-family development. I was also in charge of compiling a report that accompanied the preliminary site plan.


    Marriot Shadow Ridge, Palm Desert , California:
    I helped develop concept courtyards, conceptual hardscape and an overall master plan for this timeshare resort.

City of St. George, St. George, Utah - Park Planner

  • The following is a list of projects I have either worked on or have played a major role in designing:

    Thunder Junction:
    I am in charge of designing the major components for the park including the hardscape, train depot, volcano and fences.

    Webb Hill Trailhead:
    I was tasked with drawing construction documents. Additionally, I acted as co-project manager.

    Electric Theater:
    I designed a conceptual pocket park in an alley adjacent to the recently renovated Electric Theater.

  • Hela Seegmiller Farm:
    I drew conceptual drawing for the layout of the working farm.

     

AECOM – Las Vegas, Nevada, Inspector (June 2004 to July 2006)

  • I was contracted to the Southern Nevada Water Authority to help assist and aid in water conservation efforts.

  • This included advising and informing the public about Water Smart Landscape, a “grass to cash” desert landscape conversion rebate program.

  • Using ArcGIS, I advised potential Water Smart Landscape customers where grass could be eliminated and new low water use xeriscapes could be installed.

  • After advising potential customers about xeriscapes, I performed post field inspections and quantified the areas that were converted to xeriscape in order to determine a cash rebate amount.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Stantec Consulting, Las Vegas, Nevada - Landscape Designer (August 2006 to March 2013)

  • I was tasked with drafting construction documents for landscape architecture projects such as parks, master planned communities and freeway aesthetics.

  • My secondary role was to aid in the creation of graphic presentation boards, photography and various graphic design projects such as proposals.

  • The following is a brief list of projects that I have played a major role in conceiving and which have garnered wide media attention:

    Interstate 15 Design/Build Freeway Aesthetics, Las Vegas, NV:
    This project was conceived for the Interstate15 corridor. Stakeholders selected a concept prepared by our team that celebrated wildlife and botanical diversity.

     

    US 95 Northwest Freeway Aesthetics, Las Vegas, NV:
    The improvements for this project included weathered steel images that were mounted on bridges, sound walls and tieback walls.


    Mission View Park, Henderson, NV
    This park was designed around a water works theme. It entailed designing custom children’s play equipment using old water works equipment. Other key elements included a soccer field and desert walking trail.

    Craig Road Median Landscape Improvements, North Las Vegas, NV:
    The project scope included designing custom landscape aesthetics such as weathered steel plant forms and concrete monument walls. Additionally, other forms such as berms were incorporated into the ground plane.


    Beatty Open Space Master Plan, Beatty, NV:
    This project entailed creating a long term master plan for the town of Beatty, NV.


    Black Mountain Nature Preserve Master Plan, Henderson, NV:
    This project entailed creating a long term master plan which would eventually include the creation of a park.

  • 3D photorealistic rendering (5 years):

  • I have experience using external 3D rendering engines such as Kerkythea, Maxwell, and Lumion. Both of those rendering engines are used in conjunction with SketchUp to prepare photorealistic images for presentation purposes.

  • Graphic design (10 years):
    My experience includes event flyers, proposal presentation and preparation. My digital experience includes interactive DVD creation.

    As part of my digital darkroom workflow, I will use Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop to enhance and touch up portrait and landscape photos
